
First period helps Everblades over K-Wings

KALAMAZOO- The Florida Everblades set the tone early scoring all three of their goals in the opening 13 minutes en route to a 3-1 victory Wednesday night over the Kalamazoo Wings at Wings Stadium.

Artem Sergeev (3rd) anchored the 'Blades offense by finding the back of the net with a wrister from the blue line 2:12 into the game. Just 2:52 later and from nearly the same location, Sergeev (4th) knocked in his second of the game and the eventual game-winner. .
Not everything went well for Florida. Starting goaltender Allen York left the game midway in the period due to an injury and was replaced by Daniel Altshuller. York (9-2-0-1), who earned the victory, made two saves.
The Everblades kept plugging along, as John McInnis (4th) upped the Everblades lead to three goals scoring on a rebound 13:07 into the stanza. Following the third tally, the K-Wings made a change between the pipes replacing Oscar Dansk with Joel Martin.
With less than two minutes remaining in the third period, Sacha Guimond(2nd) notched the K-Wings lone goal with a power-play strike.
Kalamazoo will begin a two-game road swing this Friday, December 5th with a 7:15 p.m. (CST) encounter against the Evansville IceMen.
The K-Wings will return to Wings Stadium next Wednesday, December 10th with a 7 p.m. face-off versus the Gwinnett Gladiators during 10-cent Hot Dog Night, presented by Winter's Sausage.
Between now and Wednesday, December 10th fans that come to any K-Wings home game can register to win two tickets to the Detroit Red Wings game on December 16th versus the Columbus Blue Jackets. The prize also includes a special meet and greet after the game in the Olympia Club.
Tickets for all K-Wings home games are currently on sale at Wings Stadium Ticket Office, all Ticketmaster locations, including www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 745-3000.
Fans that plan on attending multiple games can avoid service fees plus enjoy a discount from the single-game price by purchasing a 12, 24 or 36-game flexi-plan.
