Ewing, Morrison Returned To Wheeling

WHEELING, W.Va. - The Wheeling Nailers announced Friday that forwards Bryan Ewing and Jordan Morrison have been reassigned to the team from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Both are expected to be in uniform tonight when the Nailers host the Johnstown Chiefs at 7:35 p.m. at WesBanco Arena.

Ewing, 23, is the Nailers' leading scorer with 72 points (36G, 36A) in 53 games. He leads the ECHL in shorthanded goals (6) and is tied for 11th in power play goals (10). The Wheeling native leads all ECHL rookies in points and goals, and is tied for second in assists.

Ewing made his AHL debut with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Feb. 8, going scoreless and even. He has played in three games with the Penguins this season after being signed by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton as a free agent on Aug. 29, 2008.

Morrison, 22, has played in seven games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season, notching one assist and eight penalty minutes. He debuted in the AHL with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Jan. 16, picking up an assists and two penalty minutes against the Binghamton Senators.

Morrison is the Nailers' second leading scorer with 62 points (19G, 43A) in 49 games. He ranks sixth in the ECHL in points and is third in assists. Morrison was originally signed by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Oct. 1, 2008.
