Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, activated D Sean Hurley from the 3-IR today, and activated F Matt Pope from the 7-IR on Thursday. Both players are expected to be in the lineup tonight when the team takes on the Stockton Thunder at the Stockton Arena at 7:30 p.m. The Condors have also released F Hank Carisio.
Pope, 24, is 3rd on the club and 7th in the league with 60 points on the season. His point total is a new Condors rookie record, while his 29 goals still lead the team and rank t-6th in the ECHL. He has missed the last five games to injury, but had a six-game point streak at the time he was placed on injured reserve.
Hurley, 25, has missed the last three games. In 40 games, the rookie blueliner has 1g-7a-8pts and 28 penalty minutes.
G Yutaka Fukufuji was also placed on the 7-IR on Thursday, the same day he was named runner-up for the RBC Financial Group ECHL Saver of the Month. He was pulled from the first period of Wednesday night's game after a collision with a Utah player and did not return to the game. Fukufuji is currently riding a six-game winning streak and has just one loss in his last nine appearances. Bakersfield native, G Manny Martinez, was added today as Emergency Back-Up and will join the team for their game tonight in Stockton.
Carisio, 25, appeared in 10 games with the Condors, recording 31 penalty minutes.
