Eagles Top Wranglers 4-3 on Teddy Bear Toss Night

LOVELAND, Colo. -The Colorado Eagles (15-6-3-1) capitalized on a Kevin Ulanski power-play goal 2:17 into overtime to defeat the Las Vegas Wranglers (8-13-2-0), 4-3 at the Budweiser Events Center on Saturday night.

Just over ten minutes into the first frame, Eagles veteran forward Trent Daavettila sent the teddy bears flying as he put Colorado on the board first, 1-0 with a shot from the slot, beating Las Vegas netminder Travis Fullerton. The Eagles would tie a team-record, allowing just one Wranglers shot in the first period, outshooting them 21-1.

Las Vegas forward Chad Nehring found the back of the net just 42 seconds into the second frame to tie the game, 1-1. With the Wranglers on a 5-on-3 power play, forward Adam Hughesman beat Eagles netminder Marc Cheverie to give the Wranglers the 2-1 advantage. Colorado forward Dylan Hood tied the game at 2-2, 14:33 into the second frame as he tipped the puck over Fullerton on a rush down the ice. The Wranglers would retaliate just over two minutes later as Hughesman found the back of the net for his second goal of the night to pull Las Vegas ahead, 3-2 after two periods.

Nine minutes into the third period, Eagles defenseman Arthur Bidwill blasted a one-timer from the top of the faceoff circle past Fullerton to tie the score, 3-3.

With the score tied at 3, the game headed into overtime where forward Kevin Ulanski scored the game-winning goal from the slot on an Eagles power play to win 4-3.
