Elmira Jackals Announce Player Transactions

ELMIRA, N.Y. - December 14, 2013 - The Elmira Jackals announced today that forward Buddy Robinson has been reassigned to the club by the Ottawa Senators from the Binghamton Senators, and that defeseman Danny New has been recalled from his loan by the Binghamton Senators.
Robinson, 22, is a 6-foot-5, 225-pound rookie who hails from Bellmawr, New Jersey. He signed a three-year entry level contract with Ottawa on March 25, 2013 after finishing his sophomore season at Lake Superior State University. Robinson went on to post four points (2 goals, 2 assists) in six regular season games last year with Binghamton before appearing in two Calder Cup playoff games. This year, his first full season as a pro, Robinson has 11 points (6 goals, 5 assists) in 23 games for Binghamton.
Robinson is expected to join the Jackals and be available to skate in Sunday's game in Reading at 5:05 p.m.
New, a second-year pro out of Providence College, is headed to the American Hockey League for the first time this year. He currently leads Elmira defensemen with 11 points (2 goals, 9 assists) in 21 games and has five points (1 goal, 4 assists) in four games this month. New appeared in 33 games for Binghamton last year and registered seven points (2 goals, 5 assists) and a +9 rating. He also scored 11 points (2 goals, 9 assists) in 21 games for Elmira in his rookie season.
Additionally, the Jackals announced today that Artem Demkov has signed a standard player's contract with the Albany Devils of the AHL. Demkov led Elmira with 10 goals and 12 points through the first 17 games this season when he received his first career call up to the AHL on December 3. In four games with Albany since then Demkov has produced three points (2 goals, 1 assist) and a +2 rating.
