Wranglers Earn Point in 4-3 OT Loss to Eagles
December 14, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Loveland, Col. - Despite being outshot 50-22, the Las Vegas Wranglers collected a point in the team's 4-3 overtime loss to the Colorado Eagles tonight.
Scoring kicked off midway through the first period as Eagles forward Trent Daavettila beat Wranglers goalie Travis Fullerton. The 1-0 score briefly carried over to the second period, when Wranglers center Chad Nehring scored his first goal of the season just 42 seconds in to tie the game 1-1. Less than five minutes later, Las Vegas took their first lead of the night off a power play goal from left wing Adam Hughesman, but Colorado responded at the 14:33 mark with a goal from forward Dylan Hood. Hughesman found Eagles goalie Marc Cheverie wide open moments later, and his second goal of the game regained the one-goal lead for the visiting team, 3-2.
With 11 minutes left in regulation, Eagles defenseman Arthur Bidwill knotted the game a third time. The 3-3 score forced overtime for the second time in three games between the two teams, and a power play opportunity allowed Eagles forward Kevin Ulanski to notch the game-winning goal. Colorado took the 4-3 win, but the Wranglers will return home with three points from the series.
The 11th annual Midnight Game returns on Monday, Dec. 16, at 11:59 p.m. as the Wranglers take on the Ontario Reign. Bella Electric Strings will perform as well, with the Wranglers' next game coming Thursday, Dec. 26, on the road against the Bakersfield Condors.
