Ontario Reign News Release

DALY CITY, Calif. - The Ontario Reign (16-3-1-3), back-to-back Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, saw their special teams come alive in their 4-1 win over the San Francisco Bulls (8-13-2-1) at Cow Palace on Friday night.

Ontario earned their sixth straight road victory setting a new club record with the help of a shorthanded goal and three power-play goals, the most in a single game this season.

The only goal in the first came as Dale Mitchell of the San Francisco Bulls beat Troy Redmann who started in his 2013-14 debut with the Reign as a rebound came off the goalie's pads right to Mitchell's stick at the 5:23 mark of the first period.

While on their sixth penalty kill of the night, the Bulls turned the puck over to Eric Springer who went on a breakaway. His shot went off the pads of Tyler Beskorowany but Mike Towns was right there to slam it past the Bulls goalie to tie the game 5:46 into the second period.

Brett Beebe lit the lamp with what would be the game-winning goal while on the power play. The Reign's Jake Hauswirth and Jake Newton created pressure in the Bulls zone and with traffic in front of Beskorowany, Beebe stuffed it past the goaltender to give Ontario a 2-1 lead about halfway through the second frame. Before the end of the period, the Reign tacked on a third goal off the stick of Mario Lamoureux for his third power-play goal of the season. Assists went to Matt Register and Matt White.

With just 1:52 left in regulation, defenseman Cody Sol fired a shot from the point which sailed through the Bulls zone and found the back of the net to give Ontario a 4-1 lead and marking Sol's first goal of the season. The tally was Ontario's fourth straight power-play goal with assists being dealt to Kyle Kraemer and Springer, his second of the night.

Redmann earned his first win of the season with 30 saves, Beskorowany took the loss with 44 saves on 48 shots.

Three Stars: 1. ONT - Brett Beebe 2. ONT - Mario Lamoureux 3. SF - Dale Mitchell
