SF Bulls Dropped by Reign, 4-1

SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco Bulls (8-13-2-1) lost 4-1 to the Ontario Reign (16-3-1-3), Friday night at the Cow Palace. Dale Mitchell opened the scoring to extend his goal streak to four games, but the Reign score four unanswered goals to take the Friday the 13th game.

Mitchell put the Bulls in front 1-0 at 5:23 of the first period. He wristed a shot from the slot that beat netminder Troy Redmann for his seventh tally of the season. He was assisted by Adrian Foster and Dean Ouellet. The Reign out-shot the Bulls 18-9 in the first period.

In the second period, the Reign gained momentum. Ontario found the equalizer on a shorthanded goal from Mike Towns at 5:56. With 8:18 left in the period, Ontario grabbed their first lead. Brett Beebe scored a power play goal with helpers from Jake Newton and Jake Hauswirth. The Reign added another goal on a 5-on-3 man-advantage from Mario Lamoureux to take the 3-1 lead. The tally came with 3:15 left in the period.

In the final period, Cody Sol scored with two minutes left on the power play to put Ontario up 4-1.

Tomorrow the Bulls are back in action when they take on the Stockton Thunder. San Francisco will be celebrating their annual Teddy Bear Toss, presented by Pods. Bring a stuffed animal to throw on the ice following the Bulls first goal. The toys will be donated to the Marines Toys for Tots, and collected by Stewart Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ramp. The game beings at 7:30 pm.
