Allen, Texas - The Colorado Eagles scored the only goal of the hockey game as the Allen Americans fall 1-0 at Allen Event Center in front of nearly 5,000 fans (4,898).

Eagles newcomer Johnny Lazo scored the only goal of the contest tipping home his first of the season at the 7:57 mark of the opening period. Lazo who was signed earlier this week by Colorado took advantage of an Americans turnover as goalie Riley Gill got caught without a stick. The teams were even at 11 shots a piece after the first period.

The Americans best chance to tie the game came late in the third period when Chad Costello was robbed by Eagles netminder Eric Levine who managed to block a Costello shot with an amazing save. Levine also stopped Americans newcomer Reid Halabi on a breakaway as the former Americans netminder earned his third shutout of the season in a 1-0 Colorado victory.

The two clubs will resume action on Sunday afternoon at 4:05 pm for Faith and Family Day in Allen. Tickets are on sale at Allen Event Center Box Office or at www.ticketmaster.com
