
Forward Mike Pereira Loaned to Utica Comets

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, today announced that forward Mike Pereira has been loaned to the Utica Comets of the American Hockey League. This is the first trip of the season to the AHL for Pereira, a second year pro from West Haven, Connecticut, who played three AHL games with the Worcester Sharks (1g-0a) after the completion of his senior season at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 2014. In twenty-eight games with the Royals this year, Pereira has recorded twenty-seven points (14g-13a) and played to a team-leading plus-12 (+12).
The Royals return to action tonight (Saturday, January 9, 2016 @ 7 pm) when the team completes a two game set with the Toledo Walleye at Santander Arena in Reading. The organization will host a Fifteenth Anniversary Celebration tonight. The second in a series of four Fifteenth Anniversary Commemorative Pucks will be distributed to the first 2,000 fans in attendance. Saturday night will also be Diamond Credit Union Saturday Night Shoot for Community younity. Saturday's local over the air radio broadcast on CBS Sports Radio 1240 am in Reading is pre-empted by NFL playoff football, but fans can still access streaming audio free of charge by following the link at www.royalshockey.com. The broadcast will also be available inside Santander Arena courtesy of Deibler Dental at 99.3 FM, starting with the pre-game warm-up show presented by Highmark Blue Shield at 6:30 pm Eastern Time. Streaming video is available on a pay-per-view basis through ECHL.TV.
