ELMIRA, NY - January 9, 2016 - The Elmira Jackals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and the AHL's Rochester Americans, continue their home stretch tonight looking for a split in the weekend set against the Manchester Monarchs.

MAGNIFYING THE MATCHUP
Tonight the Jackals and Monarchs complete their two-game weekend set at First Arena. This matchup marks the fifth of 11 meetings this season and the fourth of six on Jackals' home ice. Last night, the Monarchs bested the Jackals 6-1, increasing their point lead in the East Division to five over Elmira. Tyler Currier recorded his 10th goal of the season and Daniel Gentzler earned his first ECHL point, an assist, in his ECHL debut. The road team has won three of the first four meetings this season with the lone home win coming at First Arena on December 11th. C.J. Motte and Doug Carr dueled in net sending the game into a shootout tied 1-1. Kevin Clare scored the only goal in the skill competition to secure the 2-1 win for the Jackals.
