Durham Bulls Set New Single-Season Sellout Record

August 22, 2015 - International League (IL1)
Durham Bulls News Release

DURHAM, NC - Tonight's announced crowd of 10,417 is the thirteenth sellout at Durham Bulls Athletic Park this season, breaking the previous single-season high of twelve sellouts set in 1998.

The thirteen capacity-plus crowds this year include a July 4th attendance of 11,871, which set a new single-game record. In 2015 the Bulls have hosted three straight sellouts on two separate occasions (May 29-31, July 16-18), a feat that had never been achieved once prior to this season.

"Durham Bulls Athletic Park's 20th Anniversary season has certainly been a special one," said Durham Bulls General Manager Mike Birling. "To be breaking attendance records 20 years into the ballpark's existence really shows how amazing our fans are and we're proud to share this accomplishment with them."

The new sellout mark comes on the heels of a record-breaking 2014 season, when the team set a new single-season paid attendance high with 533,033 cumulative fans. The Bulls have ten more home games this season in which to make a run at breaking that record again.

The Durham Bulls' current home series against the Columbus Clippers continues through Sunday, August 23. Tickets for this series, and all of the remaining ten home games of the 2015 regular season, are available at durhambulls.com, the DBAP box office, or by calling 919.956.BULL.
