
Bats Drop Third Straight Game to Braves, 10-2

Lawrenceville, GA- The Louisville Bats (60-68) dropped game three of their series to the Gwinnett Braves (69-58) at Coolray Field by the score of 10-2.
There was no hesitation from the Bats to start things off in the top of the first with a RBI single by catcher Ramon Cabrera sending home Irving Falu. Adam Duvall followed with a double sending Cabrera across the plate taking an early 2-0 lead in the first.
The Braves answered quick with a Christian Bethancourt single in the bottom to score Mallex Smith. Two singles and a double followed bringing in another four runs for the Gwinett stealing an early 5-2 lead.
Righty Donn Roach (L, 2-4, 6.00) started on the mound for Louisville and left in the sixth. He allowed eleven hits, seven earned runs, two walks and two strike outs.
Starting on the bump for the Braves was righty Victor Mateo (W, 2-2, 5.47). He went six innings and allowed five hits, two earned runs and five strike outs.
Bethancourt secured a two run single to extend the Braves lead in the sixth, 7-2. Another three runs were tacked on for Gwinnett stretching their lead to 10-2 over Louisville.
The Bats face Gwinnett again tomorrow at Coolray Field at 2:05 p.m. Projected to take the mound is lefty Tony Cingrani (0-1, 1.42) for Louisville and left-hander Greg Smith (6-4, 2.45) for the Braves This story was not subject to the approval of the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues or its clubs.
