Dogs Avoid Getting Stung

The MoonDogs looked to get back at it and get into the win column after the melt down the night before.

Derrick Smith started on the mound for the MonnDogs and made quick work of the top of the lineup.

Asher Bradd took an early walk giving the dangerous Kai Roberts something to work with when he got up to bat. Roberts did not fail to impress the home crowd as he corrected for the shift and dropped one in the gap.

Smith would keep the things moving until the fourth inning. Smith would load the bases with no outs and need to be visited by coach Tanner Cunha. Smith would take the visit and calm down before going lights out getting out of his own jam.

Willmar would not give up there as they would strike in the next inning due to an untimely E5.

Luke McCollough would come in for Smith in the sixth inning serving up a clean inning for the MoonDogs.

The MoonDogs would look to the pen for the seventh inning having John Lundgren come in after missing his last projected start due to illness. Lundgren would find himself in trouble after an untimely error. Lundgren would not look to be frustrated by the situation as he would lock it down and getting three strikeouts in the inning.

RJ Elmore would come out in the eight-inning making quick work of the Stingers batters. During the ninth inning the Stingers would get one across the plate putting the MoonDogs into a must score situation.

The MoonDogs would get to work right away. Dustin Crenshaw would come in as a pinch hitter and complete the job he was asked to do. Crenshaw sent one deep for a double giving the MoonDogs the tying run in scoring position. Ty Rumsey would get lucky with a single that just had nowhere to go quickly. An error committed by the Stingers would give the MoonDogs the tying run as Crenshaw crossed the plate. Kip Fougerousse would come to the plate looking to play hero after a first pitch strike Fougerousse would take a ball before fouling off the third pitch. Fougerousse would place one right in front of the pitcher whose double clutch throw on the ball secured the runner heading home giving the MoonDogs the second walk off of the season.

The MoonDogs would win 3-2 ready to take on the Willmar Stingers tomorrow with a 5:35 P.M. first pitch at ISG Filed.
