Fond du Lac, Wis.- The Green Bay Rockers suffered their second straight road loss Saturday night, falling to the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 7-3 at Herr-Baker Field in the first of a two-game weekend set between the two teams.

The Rockers will now look to split the two-game series Sunday afternoon at home following Saturday's defeat, as despite Green Bay finishing with 12 hits, two big three-run innings from the Dock Spiders proved to be the difference for Fond du Lac to secure the victory.

The first inning featured a scoreless affair on both sides, with Kyle Stoddard (Missouri Southern State) recording a strikeout on the last batter he faced in the bottom of the first, keeping it a scoreless ballgame through an inning of play.

Fond du Lac scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the second on an RBI single from Jake Surane (Wisconsin-Oshkosh), but a great throw to home from Zane Zielinski (Illinois-Chicago) prohibited a second runner from scoring for Fond du Lac, as the Rockers found themselves down just one heading into the third at Herr-Baker Field.

After each team did not score in the third inning, it stayed that way heading into the fifth, with Stoddard continuing to cruise along on the hill with four strikeouts through the first four innings pitched, keeping Green Bay still only down by a run at 1-0.

The Rockers broke through in the fifth and scored two runs with both being errors, which brought home Luke Moeller (Arizona) and Blake Wilson (Kansas State) to score. The two Dock Spider miscues put Green Bay ahead 2-1 halfway through the contest Saturday night.

The Dock Spiders however responded with three runs of their own in the bottom of the fifth courtesy of RBIs from Surane and Conner Cooney (Holy Cross), while a Green Bay error tacked on a third run for the home team, giving them a 4-2 lead entering the sixth inning.

Following a scoreless bottom of the sixth from Cooper Dossett (Arkansas) on the mound, Green Bay cut the deficit to one on an RBI single from JoJo Jackson (Georgia State), making the score 4-3 heading into the bottom of the seventh with Green Bay continuing to fight down the stretch.

Fond du Lac came back with three runs in the bottom of the seventh off a two-RBI triple from Teddy Deters (Xavier University) and a Green Bay error, pushing their lead up to four at 7-3 with the game approaching the eighth.

After Ty McInnes (Long Island University-Brooklyn) threw a 1-2-3 bottom of the eighth inning, Green Bay loaded up the bases in the top of the ninth after Zielinski, Jayson Jones (Arkansas), and Mateo Matthews (Wagner) all reached base, but a groundout ended the ballgame with the Dock Spiders defeating Green Bay 7-3 at Herr-Baker Field.

The Rockers and Dock Spiders are set to square off for the second time in as many days Sunday afternoon with first pitch set for 1:05 p.m. at Capital Credit Union Park.

The pregame concert performed by the Jeremiah Jams Band will start at 12:00 p.m. which is the same time that gates open. Additionally, there will be a Sunglasses giveaway for the first 500 fans in attendance Sunday afternoon.
