ALBANY, N.Y. - Eric Tangradi had a goal and two assists, helping the first-place Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins earn a 4-1 victory against the Albany Devils Friday night at the Times Union Center. Dan Kelly scored for the Devils, who are now 18-24-0-3 on the season. The Penguins improve to 36-11-0-0.

"Is it a 4-1 game, I don't know about that," said head coach Rick Kowalsky. "We were a better team than that, but you have to find ways to put the puck in the back of the net."

Albany held a 29-26 shot advantage in the game with recent additions from New Jersey Mattias Tedenby provided a game-high five shots and Nick Palmieri unloading four.

"We did have scoring chances; we had a lot of plays where we passed up shots or tried to make an extra play," Kowalsky said.

Jacob Josefson extended his scoring streak to three games (2g-3a) with an assist on Kelly's goal that came at 4:05 of the second period. Albany was trailing at that point 3-0, but a wrist shot through the five-hole made it a two-goal game.

Dave Caruso provided 37:57 of relief and made 10 stops. Mike McKenna had started the game saw 22:02 of action. At the other end, John Curry maintained his stellar play against the Devils this season with 28 saves. Entering the contest, the Penguins' netminder had 3-0-0 record with a 0.70 goals-against average and a .972 save percentage.

Tangradi was joined with multiple points by Carl Sneep (2g-0a), Andrew Hutchinson (0g-2a) and Dustin Jeffrey (0g-2a).

Tangradi scored the game's second goal with 43.8 second left in the first period after Sneep's wrister opened the scoring with 3:27 remaining.

Sneep scored again to make it 3-0 from Tangradi and Hutchinson at 2:02 of the second and Nick Johnson concluded the scoring at 12:49 of the third with Tangradi and Ryan Craig registering the helpers.

Next up the Devils welcome the Rochester Americans to the Times Union Center on Saturday, Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. It's "Pucks and Paws" night and for $20 an individual can take his/her dog to the game and $5 will be donated to the Mohawk & Hudson Humane Society.
