Dawes and Mannino Return to Wolves, Thrashers Call for MacIntyre

The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned left wing NIGEL DAWES and goaltender PETER MANNINO to the Chicago Wolves. In addition, Atlanta has recalled goaltender DREW MacINTYRE from Chicago.

DAWES was recalled on Jan. 19 and appeared in three outings with the Thrashers, notching one assist. He has skated in nine outings with Atlanta overall this season.

The 25-year-old forward leads the Wolves and shares fifth in the American Hockey League with 21 goals and holds fifth on Chicago with 36 points in 40 games this season. He was named the Reebok/AHL Player of the Week on Jan. 10, after becoming the third player in Wolves history to score four goals in a single game in Chicago's 9-3 defeat of the Toronto Marlies on Jan. 5.

MANNINO was recalled on Jan. 17 and saw 34:21 of relief duty during the Thrashers 7-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Jan. 23. He has appeared in two outings with Atlanta this season, recording a 4.11 goals-against average and .861 save percentage in 73 minutes between the pipes.

The 26-year-old netminder has also backstopped 27 games for the Wolves this season (12-10-2), posting a 3.09 goals-against average and .896 save percentage in those outings.

MacINTYRE made 25 saves in regulation and overtime and stopped nine of 10 shootout attempts to lift the Wolves to a 5-4 shootout victory over the Oklahoma City Barons on Wednesday. The 27-year-old netminder has won four of his last five starts and recorded a 2.30 goals-against average and .924 save percentage in nine outings during the month of January (6-2-1). He paces Wolves netminders with a 2.88 goals-against average and .906 save percentage in 15 contests overall this season (8-5-1).

The Wolves will take on the San Antonio Rampage at the AT&T Center tonight at 7 p.m.
