TONIGHT: Having collected standing points in 9 of their last 10 games, the Barons continue a 5-game homestand with their sixth meeting of the season against the Texas Stars. OKC allowed a tying goal by Chicago in the final minute on Wednesday and lost a 10-round shootout 5-4 in the previous game to snap a 3-game winning streak. The Barons are 1-2-0-2 against Texas and have lost 4 straight, including the past 2 at the Cox Center in shootouts. The Barons, 7-1-1-1 in the past 10 games, are fourth in the West, 2 points back of first. Texas is tied for sixth, 4 points back.

HOME/ROAD SPLIT: The Barons are tied with Peoria for the second-best road winning percentage at .674. OKC is 15-7-0-1 on the road. In home games, the Barons are tied with Charlotte for 21st in win percentage at .520. The Barons are 10-9-2-4 at home. The Barons have won 2 out of 3 road shootouts, but have lost 5 of 6 shootouts at home.

MCDONALD AN ALL-STAR: Right winger Colin McDonald has been named to the Western Conference All-Star team for Monday's game at Hershey as a replacement for the promoted Linus Omark. McDonald has 23 goals, a career high and second-most in the league behind current Reebok/AHL Player of the Week Mark Mancari of Portland.

GIROUX EXTENDS STREAK: All-Star captain Alexandre Giroux had an assist on Wednesday to extend his point streak to 6 games, matching the team's best this season. During the streak, Giroux has 3 goals and 6 assists. He's second in the AHL in scoring with 53 points. Giroux is tied for third in the league in goals with 22 and tied for the lead in power play tallies with 11.

MILESTONE WATCH: Tonight is Bryan Helmer's 994th AHL game dating to 1993. If he plays each scheduled game, he will hit No. 1,000 on Feb. 18 against Abbotsford at Scotiabank Saddledome, home of the Calgary Flames. The first of OKC's 2-game set with the Heat is in Calgary as part of the NHL Heritage Classic festivities. That outdoor game is Feb. 20 between the Flames and Canadiens.

JANUARY UPDATE: The Barons are 8-3-1-1 in January, setting a season high for wins in a month with 2 January games remaining counting tonight. OKC's best previous month was October at 7-4-1-0. OKC has won 7 of its last 9 after taking just 5 of the 15 games immediately prior.

MOVEMENTS: Defenseman Taylor Chorney was retuned on loan from Edmonton Saturday and played against the Wolves on Sunday. Chorney was recalled Jan. 10. He had 2 assists in 6 games with the Oilers. Defenseman Jordan Bendfeld and winger Mark Arcobello were returned to ECHL Stockton on Monday.

ARCOBELLO SHINES IN ECHL: Former Baron Mark Arcobello, returned on loan to ECHL Stockton on Monday, had a hat trick and was named Most Valuable Player as the All-Stars beat the host Bakersfield Condors 9-3 on Wednesday. A rookie out of Yale, Arcobello has appeared in 1 Barons game in a pair of stints with OKC this season.

DOT...DOT...DOT: The Barons have contested 4 straight 1-goal games, winning the first 3 before dropping Wednesday's contest in a shootout...OKC is 10-4-2-5 in 1-goal games...Martin Gerber had a 4-start winning streak, during which he had a 1.47 goals-against average and .932 save percentage, snapped on Wednesday...Teemu Hartikainen is tied for third in the AHL in rookie scoring with 31 points, 3 off the lead of Charlotte's Zac Dalpe...Brad Moran is tied for 10th in the AHL with 42 points.
