Today's Game : The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) host the Great Lakes Loons (affiliates of the Los Angeles Dodgers) in the first game of a six-game series at Day Air Ballpark in the heart of the Water Street District.
Last Game: Sunday : Dayton 3, Lake County 0. Jared Lyons tossed six scoreless innings and relievers Pedro Alfonseca and Luis Mey combined to go the final three as the Dragons posted their second shutout win of the season. Lyons allowed just one hit with three walks and six strikeouts. Jacob Hurtubise hit a home run and Ruben Ibarra had two hits including a double with an RBI.
Last Series (May 7-12 at Lake County) : Dayton went 2-4 in the series.

Dragons in the Majors : Jacob Hurtubise, who spent the 2021 season with the Dragons and completed a 3-game rehab assignment with the Dragons on Sunday, was called up to the Reds and made his MLB debut last night. Hurbubise became the first player to appear in a game for the Dragons and then make his MLB debut the very next day.
Rehab Assignment : Reds starting pitcher Brandon Williamson is expected to begin an MLB rehab assignment as the Dragons starting pitcher tonight. Williamson has not appeared in a game this season at any level. He made 23 starts for the Reds in 2023, going 5-5 with a 4.46 ERA.

Allen has improved his contact rate dramatically in 2024, and when he has made contact, he has improved his production rate. From 2023 to 2024, Allen's strikeout rate has improved from 38 % to 21.5%, and his BABIP (batting average on balls in play) has improved from .260 to .400.
In his last 12 games, Allen is 17 for 45 (.378) with three home runs, 8 RBI, 11 runs scored, and five stolen bases.
