David Oliver Joins Team Canada Looking To Win Deutschland Cup

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach Don Hay announced today that right wing David Oliver has joined Team Canada and will play for the Deutschland Cup in Hannover, Germany from November 7-9.

Oliver, 32, has played in 10 games for the Grizzlies this season notching one assist. The Sechelt, British Columbia native has played in 194 career National Hockey League games scoring 42 goals with 44 assists. Last season in 37 games with Utah, Oliver scored 11 goals and added 14 assists.

Team Canada will play three games in the Deutschland Cup tournament starting on November 7 versus Switzerland, continuing November 8 versus the United States and concluding on November 9 versus Germany. The team will also play an exhibition game today (November 5) in Cologne, Germany versus Germany.

Oliver is expected to rejoin the Grizzlies in time for the team's November 12 game versus Manitoba.

The Grizzlies return to action on November 7 when they host the Houston Aeros. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 PM. Call (801) 988-PUCK for ticket information.
