
Berg Lifts Blades Over Wranglers 5-4 in Overtime

LAS VEGAS, NV - The Florida Everblades (5-1-2) defeated the Las Vegas Wranglers (6-2-1) 5-4 in overtime at the Orleans Arena on Tuesday Night. Florida forward Reggie Berg notched the game winning goal in overtime to give Florida the victory.
The Everblades got on the board first on the power play and scored the first two goals of the game at 6:46 and 8:07 of the first period to make it 2-0. Defenseman Paul Esdale and Matt Pagnutti both fired identical point shots on net and they found their way through the legs of Wranglers Marc Magliarditi.
The Wranglers then came back and made it 2-1 on a power play goal from forward Doug Wright to make it 2-1. Las Vegas then notched goal late in the period off the stick of Chris Kenady at the 19:46 mark and tied the game at 2-2. In the second period, the Wranglers jumped out to a 3-2 lead on a power play goal from forward Nathan Horne at the 11:38 mark. The Everblades came back late in the period after defenseman Paul Esdale found forward Chad LaRose with a beautiful back door pass and LaRose one timed the pass into the back of a wide open net to tie the game at 3-3 at the 17:15 mark of the period.
In the third period Florida took a 4-3 lead on the power play off the stick of forward Keith Anderson. The Wranglers then tied the game with just :19 seconds to go in regulation.
However, in overtime Florida forward Reggie Berg intercepted a Wranglers pass and ripped a shot over the shoulder of Las Vegas netminder Marc Magliarditi to give the Blades the 5-4 win.
Florida goaltender Rob Zepp (2-0-2) stopped 43 of 47 shots he faced while Las Vegas netminder Marc Magliarditi (6-1-0) stopped 34 of 39 shots he faced.
The Everblades were 4 for 8 on the power play while the Wranglers were 2 for 7. Florida travels to Long Beach to take on the Ice Dogs at 10:00 PM EST on Wednesday night.
