Atlantic City's Paolini Named CCM ECHL Rookie of the Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Atlantic City left wing Sam Paolini is the CCM ECHL Rookie of the Month for October.

In his first professional season, Paolini scored five goals and 12 points in seven games and helped the defending Kelly Cup Champion Boardwalk Bullies open the season with a league-leading 6-1-0 record. The 23-year-old Paolini led ECHL rookies in October with five goals and 12 points while ranking second with three power-play goals and tied for second with seven assists. In his first professional season, Paolini was tied for second overall in the ECHL in power-play goals and tied for third in scoring.

The 6-1 and 210-pound Paolini scored in five of Atlantic City's seven games, including two assists in his professional debut, a season-opening 7-3 win over Texas on October 17. He scored two power-play goals and had four points in a 5-2 win against Trenton on October 18, and scored the game-winning goal in a 3-0 win over Roanoke on October 22. He scored two goals and three points in a 4-2 win against Roanoke on October 28 and had two assists in a 4-3 loss at Greensboro on Friday.

The Rochester, N.Y. native played four seasons with Cornell University scoring 88 points (37g-51a) in 115 games, including 30 points (13g-17a) in 35 games in 2002-03.
