
Cyclones Beat IceGators in Shootout, 6-5

Cincinnati, OH -- The Cincinnati Cyclones extended their unbeaten in regulation streak to four cosnecutive games (2-0-2) with a 6-5 shootout win over the Louisiana IceGators on Wednesday at U.S. Bank Arena.
Louisiana, making their first appearance ever in Cincinnati, raced to a 3-0 lead through the game's first 12:15 on goals from Louis Mass, Shawn Skiehar, and Bobby Brown.
Head Coach Malcolm Cameron called a time out and pulled goaltender Gregg Naumenko in favor Yutaka Fukufuji. Cincinnati responded by scoring at 13:53 of the period on a goal from captain Nick Bootland to pull the Cyclones within a 3-1 margin.
In the second period, Bootland scored again just 1:13 into the frame to make it a 3-2 game. Cincinnati then tied the score at 3-3 when rookie forward Evan Cheverie collected his 17th goal of the season at 4:33 of the middle frame.
A back-and-forth third period saw the teams battle to a 5-5 tie. Louisiana needed an extra-attacker goal with just 38.3 seconds left in regulation..
Following a scoreless overtime, the shootout round lasted nine shooters apiece before John Campbell scored the game-winner.
The Cyclones host the Toledo Storm this Friday at 7:05 PM at U.S. Bank Arena.. The Fox 92.5 presents "Tribute to Jimmy Buffett Night" featuring a free post-game concert with St. Somewhere, $1 draft beers, and a special jersey auction for the Free Food Store Bank.
