SAN ANTONIO (January 12, 2007) - The Phoenix Coyotes on Friday assigned center Joel Perrault to the San Antonio Rampage - the Coyotes' top minor league affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). He is expected to be in the lineup tonight when the Rampage host the Milwaukee Admirals at the AT&T Center at 7 p.m.

Perrault, 23, has recorded three points (goal, two assists) and 14 penalty minutes (PIM) in 11 games during two stints with the Coyotes and zero points in 11 games with the St. Louis Blues this season. In addition, he has appeared in two games with Peoria (AHL), registering two assists and seven PIM.

The Coyotes claimed Perrault on waivers from the St. Louis Blues on December 19, 2006. After beginning the season with Phoenix, Perrault was claimed on waivers on October 31, 2006, by the Blues.

The Montreal, Quebec native, who tied for the team lead in game-winning goals (4) after playing only 12 games for the Rampage last season, was originally drafted by the Anaheim Ducks (5th round, 137th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

The 6-foot-1, 197-pound forward was originally acquired by the Coyotes on March 9, 2006 from Anaheim in exchange for Sean O'Donnell.
