Knights In Tune With Omaha Symphony

Known more for scoring goals and dishing out bruising hits, the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights will strike notes of a far different sort on Sunday, January 14th when they take part in the Omaha Symphony's "May I Have Your Attention Please!" concert at 2:00 p.m. The concert, under the baton of Maestro Thomas Wilkins, will be held at the Holland Performing Arts Center in downtown Omaha.

Knights' players Brent Krahn, Kris Chucko, Adam Pardy, Tim Ramholt, David Van der Gulik and Tomi Maki will join the Omaha Symphony for a "meet and greet" with concert goers from 1:00 - 1:45 p.m. Then, Krahn will join Maestro Wilkins on stage as part of the concert.

The event is part of the Omaha Symphony's Family Series, offering kid-friendly performances and a lively introduction to the orchestra. This fast-moving and enjoyable entryway to orchestral music is full of fun activities and great music for pre-school to pre-teen children and their families. The events include pre-concert lobby activities, an appearance by Major Scales the symphony's dragon mascot, an instrument petting zoo and exciting giveaways.

The Ak-Sar-Ben Knights are back on the ice on Friday when they visit the Grand Rapids Griffins at 6:00 p.m. CST. They'll return home to host the Houston Aeros on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. The Knights also will welcome The Famous San Diego Chicken who will perform during each intermission.

Tickets for all Ak-Sar-Ben Knights' games are on sale at the Omaha Civic Auditorium box office Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tickets also are available through all Ticketmaster outlets and by phone at (402) 422-1212. Kids 12 and under get in free with a paid adult on tickets purchased after 5:00 p.m. Other restrictions apply.
