Griffins Fans Help Wendy's "Change a Child's Life"

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - During the first intermission of Saturday's game between the Grand Rapids Griffins and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, Wendy's of Michigan will present a check for $85,000 to St. John's Home.
Throughout December, fans at Griffins home games and customers at Wendy's restaurants throughout West Michigan made donations to the "Change a Child's Life" program. For a $1 donation, they received a $1 Wendy's coupon and an entry form for a chance to win lunch at Wendy's with a Griffins player, autographed memorabilia, and gift cards to The Zone and Wendy's.
St. John's Home is a private, non-denominational agency in Grand Rapids that has been serving children since 1889. Every year, 850 troubled children and teens receive shelter and compassionate treatment at its wooded, 20-acre campus on Knapp St. Widely regarded as one of the most innovative and effective homes in the nation, St. John's Home is the only private children's home in America that guarantees a free college education to its graduates.
