Coyotes Assign Byers to San Antonio

(GLENDALE, ARIZONA) -- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have assigned forward Dane Byers to the San Antonio Rampage, the Coyotes American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate.

Byers, 25, has recorded 34 points (12 goals, 22 assists) and 120 penalty minutes (PIM) in 64 games this season with the Hartford Wolf Pack/Connecticut Whale and the Springfield Falcons. He has totaled 81 goals and 106 assists, including 641 PIM, in 297 career AHL games over the course of six seasons.

The 6-foot-3, 204-pound native of Nipawin, Saskatchewan has played in six career NHL games with the New York Rangers, posting one goal and 31 PIM. He was originally drafted by the Rangers in the second round (48th overall) in the 2004 Entry Draft.
