
Senators Recall Colin Greening, Ryan Potulny and Derek Smith from Binghamton

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 1, 2011) - The Ottawa Senators today recalled defenceman forwards Colin Greening and Ryan Potulny and defenceman Derek Smith from the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators .
Greening, 24, is being recalled to Ottawa for the third time this season. The St. John's, N.L., native recorded his first NHL point, an assist, in Ottawa's 5-1 win over the Florida Panthers on Feb. 23. He has two points in six games with the Senators and 36 points (13 goals, 23 assists) in 54 games with the B-Sens this season.
Potulny, 26, who was acquired by the Senators on Monday from the Chicago Blackhawks, has recorded 18 goals and 23 assists in 58 games with the Blackhawks' American Hockey League affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs in 2010-11. He has been held scoreless in three NHL games with Chicago this season.
Smith, 26, is being recalled to Ottawa for the first time this season. He was recalled once by the Senators in 2009-10 and made his NHL debut on Feb. 13, 2010, in Detroit. In two games (both with the Senators), he has been held scoreless with no penalty minutes.
The Belleville, Ont., native is first among B-Sens defencemen in scoring with 43 points (nine goals, 34 assists) and has appeared in all but one of the team's 60 games this season. He is currently in his fourth professional season (all with the B-Sens) and has played 260 AHL games, recording 131 points (32 goals, 99 assists) and 110 penalty minutes.
The Senators return to action this evening when the Boston Bruins visit Scotiabank Place at 7:30 p.m.
