Moose Re-Assign David Shantz to Victoria

The Manitoba Moose today announced they have re-assigned goaltender David Shantz to the Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL.

Shantz, 24, played in 44 games so far this season with the Salmon Kings prior to being recalled by the Moose on Feb. 27/11. With Victoria, he's compiled a record of 21-19-3 with a goals against average of 2.79 and a save percentage of .909. In 149 career games in the ECHL, the Burlington, On native has a record of 78-49-15 with a career ECHL goals against average of 2.86 and a save percentage of .907. Last season, Shantz played in 30 games with the Abbotsford Heat with a 15-10-4 record and a goals against average of 2.75 and a save percentage of .908, along with 13 Calder Cup playoff games with the Heat with a record of 6-6 and a goals against average of 2.68. In 58 career AHL games between Rochester and Abbotsford, he has accumulated a 20-27-7 record, 3.09 goals against average, and 0.900 save percentage. Shantz was originally drafted by the Florida Panthers in the second round, 37th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
