
Wolves Ink Netminder Brown

The Chicago Wolves have signed goaltender DAVID BROWN to a Professional Tryout Contract (PTO).
BROWN has appeared in 31 outings with the Central Hockey League's Quad City Mallards this season and ranks first in the CHL with a .931 save percentage and second with a 2.28 goals-against average. He shares third in the league with three shutouts and ranks 13th with 15 wins this season (15-13-1).
The 26-year-old netminder spent last season with the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators, where he recorded a 3.94 goals-against average, .888 save percentage and 10-19-3 record. He split the 2008-09 campaign between the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers and American Hockey League's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, notching a 3.06 goals-against average and .907 save percentage in 24 outings with Wheeling (14-6-2) and a 3.94 goals-against average and .841 save percentage in four tilts with Wilkes-Barre (1-2-0).
Overall, the Stoney Creek, Ontario, native has backstopped 23 career AHL games with Wilkes-Barre, spanning two seasons (2007-09), recording a 2.60 goals-against average and .902 save percentage in those tilts (10-9-1).
Prior to turning pro BROWN amassed a 55-38-11 record with a 2.32 goals-against average and .915 save percentage in 111 career games with Notre Dame (CCHA), spanning four seasons (2003 to 2007). He was a finalist for the 2007 Hobey Baker Award and named the CCHA Player of the Year after leading the NCAA with a 1.58 goals-against average and 30 wins, and ranking second with a .931 save percentage that year.
BROWN will join the Wolves when they take on the Peoria Rivermen at Carver Arena tonight at 7 p.m.
