Countdown to Face-Off

For the fifth and final time in the regular season, the Kalamazoo Wings will battle the Florida Everblades. With a record of 0-3-0-1, the K-Wings have dropped all four previous match-ups against the Everblades being outscored 18-9.

Commencing a season-long seven-game home stand with a 6-3 victory last Saturday versus the Elmira Jackals, the K-Wings have climbed to within one point of second place in the North Division, a spot currently held by the Cincinnati Cyclones.

Fresh off the all-star break, Florida is set to start a brief three-game road swing. Entering tonight, the Everblades lead the league in games played with 46, two more games than any other team in the league. Florida also starts the night in second place in the South Division, two points behind Greenville.

Seeing Red

Starting tonight, teams from all across the ECHL will start wearing their road jersey's at home. The change, which is designed to let fans see all the uniforms in the league, will occur now until to the end of the regular season.

Striking First

For the first time in their last 11 games, the K-Wings scored before their opponents last Saturday versus Elmira. On the season, the K-Wings have scored before their opponents a league-low 16 times and have won a league-tying low in seven of those games.

Power Surge

While the K-Wings rank second in the ECHL in power-play percentage at 22.2%, they have been even better at home. Kalamazoo leads the league in home power-play percentage at 24%.

Five Alive

Forwards Trent Daavettila, Andrew Fournier and Darryl Lloyd each enter the week on five-game point streaks. Fournier, who leads the team in multi-goal games with four, is also on a K-Wings' season-high five-game goal streak.
