Elmira, N.Y. - The Elmira Jackals (19-17-5-0) dropped a 2-0 decision on Friday night at First Arena to the Wheeling Nailers (25-15-0-2) in front of a crowd of 3,881 fans, a sellout. Nailers goaltender Peter Delmas made 28 saves for his first professional shutout.

Ben Street, who had both goals for the Nailers, notched the game winner at 19:06 of the first period with a wrist shot from the right circle that flew past the stick of Jackals goaltender Marco Cousineau. Nick Petersen had the assist on the goal, extending his point streak to 10 games.

Wheeling took its 1-0 lead into the third period. Despite Yannick Tifu and A.J. Perry teaming up for multiple good scoring chances in the final frame, the Nailers maintained their one-goal lead late. With the net empty in the final minute, Michael Dubuc's shot in front was stopped by Delmas while Justin Donati's rebound attempt was blocked in front by a Nailer defenseman. Street took the puck off the rebound and sent the puck into the open goal at 19:15 to seal the game, making it 2-0.

Cousineau, despite a valiant 28-save effort, fell to 12-8-4-0, while Delmas' perfect performance improved his record to 5-0-0-0.

The Jackals are at home on Sunday to host the Reading Royals at 4:05 p.m. To purchase tickets, call (607) 734-PUCK (7825), visit the First Arena Box Office, or log onto the new JackalsHockey.com.
