Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, announced today that they have acquired defenseman Tyler Gotto from the Toledo Walleye. The trade completes a future considerations transaction when the Condors sent D Jason Lepine to the Walleye on December 10.
Gotto, 25, is in his rookie season after spending the last four years with Niagara University of the NCAA. As a defenseman at Niagara, Gotto scored 80 points on 18 goals and 62 assists in 141 games. He had his best season during his senior year scoring 25 points including 11 goals.
Gotto has played in 35 games with Toledo this season scoring 4 goals and adding 8 assists for 12 points. He has also collected 8 PIMs to go along with a +9 rating. Gotto will join the Condors following their three game series in Alaska this weekend. He is expected to be in the lineup when the Condors host the Ontario Reign on Friday, Feb. 4.
What Marty says:
