Countdown to Face-Off

After a day off, the Kalamazoo Wings will return to the Germain Arena tonight to face-off against the Florida Everblades. This evening is the second of three meetings between the teams this week; the K-Wings lost 3-2 on Wednesday in their first encounter against the 'Blades.

While the K-Wings season-opening three-game winning streak came to an end on Wednesday, three player streaks were extended. Forwards Kory Karlander and Jordan Fulton each extended their point streaks to four games, while Brandon Svendsen pushed his point streak to three games.

Scoring two of the Everblades goals in the third period, forward Alex Imbeault continued his scoring magic.

Imbeault, who has earned points in five straight contests, including goals in four straight, leads the ECHL with eight goals.

Versteeg Out

The K-Wings will be without the services of defenseman Mitch Versteeg for tonight's game. Versteeg received a match penalty for slew-footing at 13:58 of the first period on Wednesday versus Florida and was fined and suspended one game by the ECHL under Rule #21 - Match Penalty.

Rolling Along

Forward Kory Karlander has had a productive first four games of the season. Karlander has started the season on a four-game goal and point streak.

Youth Movement

Rookie forward Jordan Fulton and second-year pro Brandon Svendsen are continuing to rack up points. Fulton enters the night on a four-game point streak, while Svendsen has earned points in three straight.

The Last to Fall

While the loss to Florida was Kalamazoo's first of the season, it also meant a last the ECHL. With the loss two nights ago, the K-Wings became the last team in the ECHL to suffer a blemish on their record.
