Game Preview

Tonight is the third of six meetings this season between the Kalamazoo Wings and the Indy Fuel. Kalamazoo is 1-0-1-0 against the Indy this season with both encounters being decided in overtime. Both of previous games were also held at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

After winning three games in a row, the K-Wings have now dropped their last two. As a result there is a log jam in the North Division. With 51 points, the K-Wings are two points behind the Cincinnati Cyclones for third and three points ahead of the Indy Fuel and Wheeling Nailers for fifth.

No team in the ECHL has been playing better hockey than the Indy Fuel. The Fuel, who is on a three-game winning streak, is 10-1-0-0 in their last 11 games. With 41 points, the Fuel is one point behind the Wheeling Nailers for fifth place in the North Division and three points behind the K-Wings.

Forward Matt Caria is closing in a on a person milestone. Caria needs two points to reach the 100-point plateau in his career.

Iron Man

Goaltender Joel Martin has been logging in the minutes. Martin has appeared in each of the K-Wings last 13 contests.

Heating Up

Indy's Pete Massar and Nick Jones are starting to heat up. Massar is riding a four-game point streak, while Jones has registered a point in each of his last three games.

Fueling Up

Since the all-star break Indy has been fueling up for the second half of the season. The Fuel are 7-2-0-1 in their last 10 contests, which is tied with the Fort Wayne Komets for the best stretch in that time frame.

Middle Ground

Indy's best scoring period has been the second period. The Fuel has scored 52 of their 133 goals this season in the middle frame.

Eight of Indy's Kyle Stroh's 17 goals this season have been game-winners. Stroh's eight game-winners leads the entire ECHL.
