Kalamazoo Wings News Release
KALAMAZOO- The Kalamazoo Wings has signed forward Jake Trask and defenseman Brandon Warner. Both players will make their K-Wings debut tonight.
Trask was called up to the K-Wings from the SPHL's Peoria Rivermen. At the time of call up, Trask ranked second on the Rivermen in scoring with 32 points (21 goals, 11 assists). A second-year pro, Trask split his first full season of professional hockey with the Louisiana IceGators of the SPHL and the Elmira Jackals.
Before turning pro, Trask played five seasons of junior hockey primarily in the Western Hockey League with the Kamloops Blazers and the Saskatoon Blades.
A four-year pro, Warner was a teammate of assistant coach Colin Chaulk for four seasons (2007-11) with the Fort Wayne Komets. Warner was a member of two championship teams with the Komets (2008, 2011). Before turning pro, Warner played four seasons of collegiate hockey at Michigan State University.
In separate transactions, the K-Wings have released defensemen John Kivisto and Travis Armstrong (Amateur Tryout Agreement).
Kalamazoo begins the week tonight with a 7:05 p.m. encounter at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum against the Indy Fuel.
The K-Wings will return home this Friday, February 27th, with a 7:30 p.m. face-off versus the Toledo Walleye during Michigan Blood Night.
