Army Named to ECHL Fantasy Team, Hartzell a Golden Goalie

WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens, are pleased to announce that forward Derek Army has been named to the 2014-15 ECHL Fantasy Team, presented by the MeiGray Group, while goaltender Eric Hartzell will be participating in the League's Golden Goalie Program.

Fans had the opportunity to vote on ECHL.com for one player on each ECHL member team's ballot to help select the 2014-15 Fantasy Team. Thanks to the support from fans throughout the Ohio Valley, Derek Army, who leads the Nailers with 19 goals this season, will wear a special ECHL Fantasy Team jersey during Wheeling's home game on Saturday, March 14th against the Elmira Jackals.

One goaltender for each team has also been selected to participate in the MeiGray Golden Goalie Program. Eric Hartzell has posted a 12-10-0 record in 22 starts this season, and will also wear a special jersey during the March 14th game.

Each of the Fantasy Team skater and MeiGray goaltender jerseys will be available for bid through The MeiGray Group. Jerseys will be available for bid starting on Tuesday, March 17th.

The Nailers will drop the puck on a four-game homestand on Friday night, when they clash with the Elmira Jackals at 7:35.

The Nailers will play a four-game homestand from February 27th-March 3rd.

Elmira returns to town on Friday, February 27th at 7:35 as the Nailers host their annual Wing Fest game. That night will also be a Flat Screen Friday, Frosty Friday, Player Poster Giveaway, and Wheeling Island Nailer Night.

Saturday, February 28th is Pink in the Rink, when Wheeling battles Greenville at 7:35. The Nailers will wear special jerseys, there will be pink rally towels handed out, and autographed mystery pucks will be available for purchase.

Sunday, March 1st wraps up the weekend at 4:05 against the Road Warriors on a Family Funday with $5 kids tickets, Oglebay Good Zoo Day, and a post game skate with the team. That day will also be the annual Pucks & Paws Day, when fans are invited to bring their dogs and cats to the game.

Tuesday, March 3rd will be the make-up game for the postponed contest from February 16th against the Jackals. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05, and fans will be able to purchase a hot dog and soda combo for $5.
