INDEPENDENCE, MO (Tuesday, February 24) - The Missouri Mavericks snapped a six-game skid on Tuesday night on the road in Rapid City, South Dakota with a 3-2 regulation victory over the Rapid City Rush. The Mavs scored three unanswered goals to rise above the Rush after trailing 2-0 through the first twenty minutes of play.

Mavericks net minder Josh Robinson made thirty-five saves through a full sixty minutes of hockey, claiming his first victory between the pipes in a Mavs sweater this season.

The Rush were first to the board only 2:43 into play when Patrick Cullen, assisted by Winston Day Chief and Brett Kostolansky, took the 1-0 lead for Rapid City. Dylan Clarke doubled the Rush lead at 18:56 of the frame with the help of Mathieu Brisebois and Kevin Harvey to lead the Mavericks 2-0 heading into the second period.

Down by two, the Mavs needed a big move, and Lindsay Sparks was there to make it at 5:39 of the second period to cut the Rapid City lead in half 2-1. Jack Downing and Andrew Courtney were credited with the assists on Sparks' thirteenth tally of the season. Sparks was not finish yet with his offensive drive, tying the game 2-2 less than two minutes later at 7:29. Veteran forward John-Scott Dickson notched the lone assist on Sparks' second goal of the contest.

Andrew Courtney gave the Mavericks a 3-2 lead (unassisted) only 2:42 into the third period, marking his 22nd goal of the season. The Mavs were able to maintain their 3-2 advantage through the remainder of regulation, dodging a bullet when a Rush goal was called off in the final seconds of play due to goaltender interference.

Missouri collected two points in their Tuesday night victory and break a six-game slide heading into their weekend of back-to-back match ups against the Quad City Mallards on Friday, Feb. 27 and Saturday, Feb. 28 at Independence Events Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. (CST).

Single game tickets are available online at TicketMaster.com and in-person at the Silverstein Eye Centers Box Office at Independence Events Center.
