For the 11th time this season, the Kalamazoo Wings will take on their archrivals, the Fort Wayne Komets. In total, the teams will meet 16 times this season, so far Kalamazoo is 4-5-1-0 versus the Komets, including a record of 3-3-0-0 at Wings Stadium.
For the second straight contest, the K-Wings suffered a heartbreaking defeat, this time with a 4-3 overtime setback last night to the Evansville IceMen at the Ford Center. With 36 points, Kalamazoo is tied with Evansville for fourth place in the North Division.
Tonight is the start of a three-game road swing for Fort Wayne. The Komets travel to Wings Stadium with a chance to get a share of first place in the North Division. With 46 points, Fort Wayne trails the division-leading Cincinnati Cyclones by two points.

Golden Ice, I'm Lovin' It
Kalamazoo will host the Fort Wayne Komets tonight during the 5th Annual McDonald's Golden Ice Game. The K-Wings are 2-2-0-0 on golden ice and 2-1-0-0 since joining the ECHL.
Lighting the Lamp Forward Nick Sirota, who has registered five goals in his last three games, has netted goals in three straight games. The three-game goal streak is a season-high for Kalamazoo.
Red Hot
Forwards Alexandre Grenier and John Armstrong enter tonight on impressive point streaks. Grenier has earned points in four straight games, while Armstrong is on a three-game point streak.
Dishing it Out
Kalamazoo's Sam Ftorek has recorded 20 assists this season. The 20 helpers places Ftorek tied for third among all ECHL defensemen.
