After a scoreless opening 12 minutes to start the game, the Steelheads broke the scoreless tie with a pair of quick goals. Tyler Gron scored in his Idaho debut at 12:01 from just outside the crease for the first goal of the game. Austin Fyten then scored on a rebound at 2:41 to increase the leads. Alaska got back within a piar when Alex Imbeault redirected a shot from new Aces defenseman Mike Baran at 4:10.
