North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays (19-21-1-3) dropped a heartbreaking contest to the Florida Everblades (20-13-3-4) 2-0 at the North Charleston Coliseum Saturday evening.

The Everblades broke a scoreless tie 6:40 into the second period with a tally from forward Brayden Irwin. Irwin broke free up the right-wing boards and snapped a shot past Stingrays goaltender Jeff Jakaitis (L, 23 saves on 24 shots) for his 12 goal of the season. While on the power play, the Stingrays were awarded a penalty shot at 15:29 when defenseman Charles Landry covered the puck in the crease. Forward Hunter Bishop took the shot, but was denied by the right pad of Everblades netminder Rob Madore (W, 34 saves on 34 shots).

The Stingrays peppered Madore in the third period with 14 shots, but could not slip one over the goal line. Landry sealed the victory with an empty-net goal with one second to play. The Stingrays finished the game 0-for-3 on power play while the Everblades went 0-for-2.
