Prince George Cougars News Release

PRINCE GEORGE BC - Head Coach & General Manager Mark Lamb has announced the acquisitions of forward Arjun Bawa (05), a 2023 2nd round pick in the WHL Prospect's Draft, and a 2023 7th round pick in the WHL Prospects Draft from the Red Deer Rebels in exchange for forward Ryker Singer (05).

Bawa, 17, was drafted by the Rebels in the second round, 36th overall, in the 2020 WHL Prospect's Draft. The product of Vancouver, BC has 5 points this season (2G-3A) and 40 penalty minutes in 34 games played. The 6'2 175-pound forward played for the Cowichan Valley Capitals of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) in the 2021-22 campaign, where he collected 8 points in 46 games.

"Arjun is a player that we were interested in at the 2020 draft. He is a big physical player that will fit well with our forward core," said GM Mark Lamb. Bawa will wear number 9 and will be in the Cougars lineup this weekend when they take on the Everett Silvertips.

The Cougars would like to thank Ryker Singer for his contributions to the team, the city of Prince George, and wish him good luck in Red Deer.

The Cougars return to action tomorrow night when they host the Everett Silvertips at 7:00 PM. The Cats wrap up the weekend set with Everett on Saturday at 6:00 PM. You can get your tickets online at www.ticketsnorth.ca or at the TicketsNorth box office located at the CN Centre.
