KAMLOOPS, B.C. - Ben Hemmerling snapped the Everett Silvertips' losing skid in dramatic fashion, netting the overtime winner for a 3-2 victory in Kamloops Wednesday night.

Jackson Berezowski opened the scoring for the Tips at 4:32 in the first period, tapping in a powerplay goal for his 21st of the season and 102nd of his career.

Kamloops tied the score at 16:37 in the second period, but a Ryan Hofer rebound goal generated off a Hemmerling shot restored the Everett lead just 45 seconds later for a 2-1 lead after two.

Ryan Michael scored his first career WHL goal for the Blazers just 42 seconds into the third period. The score would hold until the end of regulation time, though the Silvertips were bestowed a powerplay opportunity in the waning seconds of the third period.

Hemmerling wired a wrist shot from the high slot home for his 12th of the season 1:28 into overtime, sealing the 3-2 victory.

Kamloops native Aidan Sutter skated in his 150th career Western Hockey League game in the win. Tyler Palmer stopped 22 of 24 for his first victory as a Silvertip.

Everett continues their road trip by heading up to Prince George for a Friday-Saturday set of games. They return home Friday, Jan. 13 and 14 for a home slate against the Blazers and Tri-City Americans. Tickets are available.
