
Condors Go Down Shooting, Fall to Reign 4-2

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.- The Bakersfield Condors (26-24-2-1, 55pts) the Ontario Reign (19-30-2-3, 43pts) in front of 4,028 fans at Rabobank Arena Sunday evening.
The Reign notched the only goal of the opening stanza when C Aaron Lewadniuk found himself wide open in the low slot and ripped a one-timer over the shoulder of G Josh Tordjman to give Ontario a 1-0 lead at the first intermission.
The offense opened up in the second period, as LW Guillaume Lefebvre picked the top corner at 2:01 of the second to tie the game at 1-1. Ontario regained the lead on a goal by D Shawn Germain at 10:17, but the Condors eliminated the deficit 1:18 later as F Michael Gergen slammed home a shot on a scramble in front of the net, tying the game at 2-2. Ontario struck twice more before the end of the frame with goals from D David Walker and RW Chaz Johnson as they lead 4-2 after two.
Fatigued legs and goaltending prevailed in the third, as neither team was able to crack the scoresheet. The Condors outshot the Reign 14-1 in the third and 51-24 overall.
Notes:
The Condors fired 51 shots in the game to bring their total over 50 for the third straight game... With 21 shots in the first period, the Condors surprised their previous season high for shots in a period... Bakersfield has outshot Ontario 158-82 over the three games of the weekend series... RW Erick Lizon return to the lineup from suspension, and played for the first time since Jan. 28 at Alaska... Power plays: BAK: 0/2, ONT: 1/3... Three Stars: 1. M. Zacharias (ONT); 2. J.
