Condors continue literacy campaign; Post-game autograph session at Tailgaters on Saturday

Thursday, March 9 : The students of Mrs. Love's 3rd grade class at Laurelglen Elementary will have a special guest this afternoon! At 12:20pm, Condor defenseman Jordan Little will talk to the students about the importance of literacy and answers questions the students may have about what it takes to be a professional athlete. Little will be accompanied by Public Relations Assistant Angelese Reed. Laurelglen Elementary is located at 2601 El Portal Drive in Bakersfield.

Thursday, March 9 : Condors Reagan Leslie, Oriel McHugh and Account Manager Tim Statezni will visit with the students at Sylvan Learning Center at 3:45pm. The Learning Center is located at 5115 Ming Avenue in Bakersfield.

Thursday, March 9 :Experience the Condors Coach's Show live from 6-7pm at the Q Street Lounge inside the Holiday Inn Select or tune in to KGEO AM 1230 to listen to the broadcast. Condors Director of Media Relations Devin Rossiter and Head Coach Marty Raymond will be joined by Condors players for the weekly broadcast.

Friday, March 10 : In a continued celebration for Dr. Seuss's birthday, Highland Elementary is hosting "Read Across America". Director of Community Relations Mikie Hayhurst and Condor Eric Neilson will read to students beginning at 9am. Highland Elementary is located at 2900 Barrnett in Bakersfield.

Saturday, March 11 : Visit with your favorite Condors Dave Bonk, Nick Economakos, Jordan Little and Kevin St. Jacques at Tailgaters Sports Bar & Grill following Saturday's home game against the Stockton Thunder. Tailgaters is located across from the Rabobank Arena at 900 Truxtun Avenue #110.

Thursday, March 2 : Condor forward Eric Neilson and Ticket Administration & Client Services Manager Dayna Cashion attended the celebration of Dr. Seuss's birthday at Virginia Avenue School in Bakersfield.

Thursday, March 2 : Condors players Eric Neilson, Oriel McHugh and Public Relations Assistant Angelese Reed visited with patrons at Houchin Blood Bank to conclude the month-long blood drive that gave donors the opportunity to earn $1 admissions to a Condors home game. McHugh and Scott Frasnelly, director of marketing and operations, both donated blood while at the event.

Friday, March 3 : Director of Community Relations Mikie Hayhurst and Condor Oriel McHugh read to students at Del Vista Elementary in Delano.

Sunday, March 5 : Account Manager Craig Turney and Condors mascot Colonel Claw'd visited Valley Bible Fellowship to support the efforts of the Valley Schools Fundraiser.

Thursday, April 6 : Jamie Cooke's Team Canada Jersey to be auctioned - You have a chance to own a piece of history! Former Condor Jamie Cooke is donating his 2003 game-worn Team Canada jersey from the Pan Am Games to be auctioned off by Fairview Elementary School. Thursday, April 6th , the "Day of the Child Festival" will take place at Fairview Elementary School from 5:30-7:30pm. At the end of the evening, the final bid will be accepted and the winner will be announced. You can place your bid at the event, or in advance by contacting Mary Lou Martinez by phone 747-9552 or by email martinezm@gfusd.k12.ca.us Jamie Cooke suited up for the Condors from 1999- 2003 and will represent Team Canada this July as captain in the World Games then again in the 2007 Pan Am Games. Proceeds from this auction will help less privileged children attend an educational field- trip.

Individual game tickets are on sale now and may be purchased through the Rabobank Arena box office, which is open 10am - 6pm Monday through Friday and 10am - 4pm on Saturdays with extended hours on game days. Tickets may also be purchased by phone at 322-2525, online at www.bakersfieldcondors.com, or at any Ticketmaster location.
