CHARLOTTE, NC - The Charlotte Checkers played just one game last week suffering a 6-3 loss to the Florida Everblades Saturday night. The Checkers trip to Florida rounded out a stretch of just three road games over the last 13 days. The Checkers return to action on Friday at home to host the Gwinnett Gladiators.

Saturday, March 4, 2006 @ Florida, L, 3-6 The Charlotte Checkers dropped their third straight contest Saturday night in a 6-3 defeat at the hands of the Florida Everblades in Fort Myers, Florida. Steve Saviano and Vince Bellissimo each scored a pair of goals for the Everblades, while Florida goalie Kevin Nastiuk made some timely stops to gain the win with 30 saves. Charlotte trailed the entire game, but did pull within one goal at 4-3 after two periods.

The loss was the third in as many meetings for the Checkers in Fort Myers this season, and including playoffs, Charlotte's record the past two seasons in Germain Arena fell to 1-7-0. Dusty Jamieson, Rick Kozak and Juris Stals scored for Charlotte, and goalie Chris Holt yielded six goals in suffering the defeat.
