Ice Pilots Announce New Community Relations Director

Pensacola, FL - On February 13, the Pensacola Ice Pilots added a new staff person to their organization. Raela Villanueva is the new Community Relations Director, replacing Laura Cheek who has moved on to work for the Tampa Bay Lightning. Raela was the Marketing & Fund Development Coordinator for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida. Raela worked for the non-profit agency for almost eight years where she was also a Case Manager and Program Director. "Raela brings outstanding credentials to the Ice Pilots organization," according to Mario Forgione, President of the Ice Pilots. "Her experience and leadership with community relations will definitely enhance our programs."

Raela is a Pensacola native and graduate of Florida State University where she was a batgirl for the FSU baseball team. Her community involvement includes volunteering as a Big Sister for five years, she volunteers with The Compassionate Friends, is the volunteer Regional Director for the Florida Suicide Prevention Coalition (Region 1), and is a member of Toastmasters. Raela was also chosen as one of forty up and coming young professionals under the age of forty in May 2004. Raela is excited about getting the Pensacola Ice Pilots team and staff more involved in the community.
