South Carolina Stingrays News Release

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC-South Carolina Stingrays Head Coach Jason Fitzsimmons announced today that Kirk Daubenspeck has been sent to the team by the Hershey Bears. Daubenspeck is expected to be in the lineup in time for tomorrow's game with the Pensacola Ice Pilots, but is not expected to start.

Daubenspeck has a record of 8-4-2 in 13 appearances this season with a goals against average of 3.26 and a save percentage of .891. He was 12-10-3 last season with the Stingrays with a goals against average of 2.30. The all time Stingray leader in wins with 107 helped the Rays to a Kelly Cup in 2001.

"Obviously we are thrilled to be getting a goaltender with Kirk's ability at this time of the season," noted Fitzsimmons. "He will help us on the ice and in the locker room leading some of our young players."

The Stingrays begin a three game home stand tomorrow evening against the Pensacola Ice Pilots. South Carolina is running a March Madness Promotion all month long. Fans can park for a dollar at any of the team's seven home games this month. Beer is just a dollar on Friday and Saturday nights, and on Sunday the 19th hot dogs are a dollar and tickets are free for kids.
