
Columbus Recalls Defenseman Clay Wilson

Syracuse, NY (December 5, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled defenseman Clay Wilson from the Crunch.
Wilson, 25, has appeared in all 23 games for the Crunch this season, posting eight goals, seven assists and four penalty minutes. He is currently first among AHL blueliners in goals and ranks fourth in points.
In 80 career games with the Crunch, Wilson has registered 19 goals, 34 assists and 33 penalty minutes. He was selected to play in the 2008 AHL All-Star Classic where he registered one assist for the PlanetUSA squad. He also made his NHL debut with Columbus last season and skated in seven games overall with the club, registering two points (1g, 1a).
A native of Sturgeon Lake, Minnesota, Wilson was acquired along with Aaron Rome by Columbus in a trade from Anaheim in exchange for Geoff Platt on November 15, 2007.
The Crunch's next game is Saturday, December 6 as they travel to Houston to take on the Aeros at 8:35 p.m. The Crunch returns home on Friday, December 12 against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Crunch office at 315-473-4444, stopping by the Oncenter Box Office, located on the State Street side of the War Memorial or by calling Ticketmaster at 315-472-0700.
