Houston Aeros News Release
HOUSTON, Texas - Houston Aeros players and staff will visit the Mix 96.5 Request-A-Thon during their on-air fundraiser for Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital and also at ABC-13's Share Your Holiday Food Drive. A number of Aeros' players will visit each location in a continuing effort to increase support for those who are less fortunate or going through difficult times.
Aeros' Brandon Rogers, Maxim Noreau and Craig Valette will be at the Mix 96.5 Request-A-Thon from 4:30-6 p.m. encouraging listeners to donate in support of Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital. Listeners' donations will allow them to request songs between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. During the 5 o'clock hour while the Aeros are there, listeners who donate will have the opportunity to be awarded with Houston Aeros tickets to an upcoming game. The highest donor during the 5 o'clock hour will receive a team-autographed jersey. ABC-13's Share Your Holiday Food Drive, which benefits the Houston Food Bank, has been a long standing tradition of giving during the holiday season. Last year's donations benefited more than 16,262 people in need throughout the region, including 8,417 children. Danny Irmen, Clayton Stoner, Jason Ryznar and Matt Kassian will represent the Aeros on-air to help raise awareness for this event in addition to Houston Aeros Charities food drive that was held prior to Thanksgiving at Aeros' games.
"The Aeros' partnership with both the Houston Food Bank and Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital has had a positive impact throughout the community," said Vice President of Marketing and Communications Courtney Eidman. "The Holiday season can be tough in many ways for families and we are happy to help in any way possible."
Listeners can call the Mix 96.5 Request-A-Thon at 713-212-5965 today to donate and request their songs. Donations for ABC-13's Share Your Holiday Food Drive can be dropped off at KTRK-TV Studios located at 3310 Bissonnet Street between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. today.
The Houston Aeros Charities' Teddy Bear Toss is coming up next Saturday, December 13 which will benefit the Salvation Army in time to help those in need for the holidays. Call (866) GO-AEROS or visit AEROS.com to get your tickets for that game and don't forget your Teddy Bears to throw on the ice after the Aeros' first goal!
